Take a listen to Neutral Milk Hotel

Been listening to:
As if the Radiohead original version wasn't depressing enough I have to go and get obsessed with David Bazan's cover. I wish I wouldn't have missed his concert at the Ottobar. (I always miss out on good shows at the Ottobar like Colour Revolt!) I saw on youtube he played Bad Diary Days..I'd almost rather not know if he played Criticism as Inspiration....because that is one of my favorite songs..ever. I got back from California at like 2am on Saturday and the show was Sunday night.. and it like my french hw..slipped.my.mind.
I have liked this for some time.
I actually saw this pre-Hangover and resent people that refer to Zach Galifianakis as the fat guy from The Hangover. He transcends that!

Katie's thoughts on Pop Culture: "Doctor shows"
(Disclaimer: I have insomnia and no cable in my room.)
So maybe I saw too many episodes of Greys Anatomy at 3am this past winter but it made me think about the following:
I hope when/if I am ever in an ER having some type of life saving surgery/procedure that the doctors that are standing over me aren't secretly thinking about banging each other, but instead how to pull the bullet out of my heart, take the tumor out of me, etc...
p.s the doctor show that im currently watching (looking over my shoulder every couple mins at) has a guy that is way too good looking to be a doctor. he looks like an extreme sports athelete.
Recently Watched: Revanche
Wow.. I waited way too long to watch this movie.
There were several surprising moments, but they always worked for me because it all seemed to unfold organically.
I liked the way that the outdoor spaces were shot to look open and free, while all of the indoor spaces were really tight and claustrophobic.
All of the actors gave really good performances, particularly the male lead. Sometimes revenge movies are annoying and overally dramatic, but this was a really pure story to me, I didn't feel it was something that I'd seen before.
Go see it.

an update on my media intake or lack there of..
(photo by: Joyce Kim from the set of Putty Hill)
But anyway. I did have the chance to see Matt Porterfield's film Hamilton and his new film Putty Hill. And I have to say they were pretty amazing! I watched Hamilton twice...and I think I watched Putty Hill four times.. If you get a chance you should check it out at the Maryland Film festival in early May! You won't be disappointed ..the film is pretty innovative..I really can't compare it to anything else. Plus its shot in Baltimore, c'mon people thats just awesome! Much of it is shot outdoors and its reminds me of my childhood.. it made me think about how awesome Baltimore can be in the summer.
